Track and Field Men Finish Up at Towson

TOWSON, MD (April 2, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field finished action at the 2022 Towson University Invitational Saturday, posting a strong day in jumps, throws and running events in competition from Johnny Unitas Stadium. 

Starting on the track, three Susquehanna runners posted a personal-best time in the 200 meter dash, as Matthew Masser ran a 23.58 while Ben Bulger and Isaiah Blatt registered times of 23.84 and 24.09, respectively. 

First-year Ezra Miller ran a new lifetime-best time in the 400 meters, taking 30th place with a 52.60, and Bulger and Masser each also set new all-time best times as they clocked in with times of 54.05 and 54.29. 

In the 800 meter run, junior Jack Warehime ran a regional-qualifying time along with the Landmark Conference's best time so far this year after taking eighth with a 1:56.49. In the 110 hurdles, Joey Masser qualified for the regional meet after posting a ninth-place time of 15.55 seconds. 

In the long jump, Joey Masser posted a regional-qualifying time of 6.72 meters for eighth place, as the mark ranks first in the Landmark Conference. Junior Bryce Ellinger competed in the long jump for the first time in his career and excelled, finishing ninth with the Landmark's second-best mark this season of 6.69 meters. Keith Green also chalked up a PR in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters. 

The throwers shined on Saturday as well, as Tyler Hauk posted a fourth-place finish in the discus to qualify for regionals with a throw of 43.35 meters. The toss was a personal-best mark, along with the fifth-best distance in Susquehanna history. Ryan MacDonald also posted a new PR in the discus throw after recording a mark of 37.96 meters. 

In the javelin, Sam Hebert recorded a season-best throw and a regional-qualifying mark of 51.17 meters to take fifth place. Curtis Anthony took 10th place in the javelin throw with a mark of 44.53 meters.
