Ashley Warner brought the bat game in and game out to keep the River Hawks soaring through the final day of the Landmark Tournament at Moravian. She batted 2-for-3 despite the disappointing first-round defeat to Catholic on Friday, but played a pivotal role to advance Susquehanna through Saturday's survive-and-advance games. Opening against Scranton, her third-inning two RBI single proved to be the only offense needed to pull out a 2-1 victory, then in the rematch against Catholic, tied the game in the sixth inning with a ribbie single to force extras, leading to a three-run ninth for Susquehanna in a 4-1 win. In the first inning of the championship game against Sunday, she poked through a two-out single up the middle to score Lexi Palumbo for a 1-0 advance, a lead they would hold on to for the next six innings.Â
