Open Swim

A photo of the pool in Garrett Sports Complex.The pool is open to all students, faculty and staff for recreational purposes during open swim hours without charge. A signed release is still required.  

Pool Schedule 
The pool is reserved at times for varsity teams and events. The pool is closed on weekends, during finals and for university breaks in fall, winter and spring terms. The pool also closes during summer break. 

Open Swim Hours During the Academic Year
Monday: 6–8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Tuesday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 6:30-8 p.m.
Wednesday: 6–8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Thursday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 6:30-8 p.m.
Friday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Sunday: Closed

Membership Rules and Regulations 

  1. School IDs must be presented upon request.  

  1. Children under 18 will not be permitted to use any area unless a parent/guardian member is present in the building. Direct parental supervision is required for children under 14 y/o in all activity areas.  

  1. Members agree to obey all published rules and regulations governing the use of the Garrett Sports Complex. It is further understood that membership is a privilege that may be modified or revoked at the discretion of Susquehanna University. 

  1. Members also agree to discharge Susquehanna University and all its officials, agents, and employees from all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, which may occur from using these facilities. Further, members agree to hold the University harmless and fully indemnify the University from any action for damage to property of persons from acts of said members, their families, or guest. 

  1. It is further understood that no commercial solicitation is permitted in the Garrett Sports Complex, or elsewhere on Susquehanna University property, without the express and prior written permissions of Susquehanna University authorities. This restriction includes any commercial lessons (swimming, personal training, etc.) 

Pool Guidelines 
To ensure a safe experience, please adhere to the following pool rules: 

  • Shower before entering the pool.  
  • Proper swim attire is required; undergarments and street clothing are not permitted. 
  • Enter feet first — no diving allowed. 
  • Lifeguards have the final authority on all matters at the pool. 

Facilities  
In addition to the swimming pool, participants can use the locker room, changing area and showers. 

The pool temperature is regulated by the Susquehanna Aquatics Director. Any questions concerning the pool temperature may be directed to the Athletics Office at (570) 372-4274.  

Parking 
General parking is available in the lot behind 514 University Avenue, including EV charging stations.  

Participants may not park in the following spaces: 

  • Reserved for faculty and staff during university office hours, 
  • Marked as "NO PARKING," or 
  • Designated for individuals with disabilities unless displaying a valid handicapped plate or placard.
