Craig Roumes won game MVP after forcing a fumble as well as recovering two fumbles, as the Susquehanna University Football team won a highly defensive game against Stevenson 17-7 to win a Centennial-MAC Bowl game Saturday afternoon at Doug Arthur Stadium in Selinsgrove.
With the Mustangs’ driving down to the River Hawks seven yard-line during the second quarter, Roumes ripped the ball out of the quarterback’s hands, and the River Hawks were able to recover it.
Following a River Hawks 54 yard punt in the fourth quarter, Roumes caused the Mustangs’ to fumble it on their own three yard-line, and he was able to recover it.
With just 5:16 left in the game, he recovered another fumble on the Mustang 16 yard-line, which put the River Hawks in field goal range.
The River Hawks ended their season with an 8-3 record.
For his efforts, Craig Roumes has been named as the Susquehanna Men’s Athlete of the Week.
