Junior right-side hitter Sydney Portale helped power the River Hawks to a 3-1 record at the Sea Gull Classic this past weekend in Salisbury, Maryland.
Portale totaled 42 kills in the four games, averaging 3.23 kills per set. She also recorded a season-high 16 kills in the River Hawks’ loss to Salisbury, their only loss of the tournament. The Glen Mills, Pa., native posted a pair of double-digit kill performances against Salisbury and Muhlenberg.
For her performance, Portale was named to the Sea Gull Classic All-Tournament Team.
The team heads to the Randolph-Macon Invitational on September 6-7 with a 3-1 record.
Portale has earned River Hawk of the Week for her efforts.
