Freshman Ashlynn Searer won the individual title at No. 2 singles in the Kings College Tournament in Wilkes Barre, leading the Susquehanna University Women’s Tennis team to a strong showing in it’s opening action of the season.

Searer defeated Nicole Sinclair from Marywood by an 8-1 score and then defeated Misericordia's Erica Slowicki 8-2 to advance to the title match. She then downed Emilia Jakubek with an 8-6 decision to win the title.

The River Hawks continue their season Saturday at home when they take on Penn College at 1 P.M.
