SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore back
Laurel Monaghan (East Fallowfield, Pa./Coatesville
Area) and freshman midfielder All Bradley
(Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South) both scored two
goals and assisted on two more to give Susquehanna a 7-0 win over
visiting Goucher College (4-9, 0-4 Landmark) in a Landmark
Conference field hockey game at Sassafras Fields on Oct. 10.
Susquehanna (5-8, 2-2 Landmark) opened the scoring in the 11th
minute on Bradley's first goal off an assist from
junior midfielder Rebecca Entwistle (Wall Twp.,
N.J./Wall).
Teammate and junior back Julia Amendola (Mountain Top,
Pa./Bishop Hoban) dished out an assist on
Monaghan's first goal on a centering pass into the
crease to give the Crusaders a 2-0 halftime lead.
Just 2 minutes, 3 seconds into the second half,
Monaghan picked up her first assist of the game,
as Bradley tipped in the pass for her second
goal.
Crusaders senior forward Andrea Fiori (West Trenton,
N.J./Lawrenceville) picked up her team-leading seventh
goal of the season off a centering pass from freshman midfielder
Allison Abey (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) for a 4-0 lead
halfway through the second half.
In the 60th minute, Monaghan and
Bradley each assisted off a penalty corner on
Amendola's goal.
The final two Susquehanna scores came 23 seconds apart in the 67th
minute. Monaghan notched her second goal off
Bradley's second assist, while sophomore forward
Heather Moore (Columbus, N.J./Peddie) tipped in a
long pass from Fiori to tally the last Crusaders
goal.
SU sophomore Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel,
N.J./Seneca) made one save on the afternoon for her first
shutout this season.
Susquehanna outshot Goucher, 23-2, and owned the penalty-corners
advantage, 15-4.
