Boxscore

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Susquehanna University's senior co-captain and middle hitter Jess Cicioni (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) recorded a match- and season-high .727 attack percentage to help Susquehanna blank Moravian College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-16), on the second and last day of the second 2009 Landmark Conference Round-Robin, held at The Catholic University of America's Raymond A. DuFour Center on Oct. 18.

Cicioni's eight kills and zero errors in 11 attacks helped SU (19-11, 5-1 Landmark) claim the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Landmark championships. The Crusaders will join nationally ranked No. 2 and the Landmark's No. 1 seed, Juniata College (23-2, 6-0 Landmark), as the other team with a first-round bye in the conference playoffs.

Junior outside hitter Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton, Pa./Freedom) posted a match-high 10 kills against Moravian (12-16, 2-4 Landmark). The Greyhounds finished Round-Robin play as the Landmark's No. 5 seed. Jankiewicz also tied for the match-high with two service aces.

Crusaders sophomore setter Shona St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) led all players with 27 assists in this match. Teammate and freshman libero Kelly O'Brien (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) posted a match-high 18 digs.

Senior co-captain and middle hitter Madeline Hals (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) tied for the match-high with three blocks. SU's freshman utility player Morgan Jackson (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) and sophomore defensive specialist Kate Reese (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) tied Jankiewicz for the match-high with two service aces each.

Catholic (19-9, 4-2) finished Round-Robin play with the Landmark's No. 3 seed. Goucher College (13-11, 3-3) and the United States Merchant Marine Academy (12-12, 1-5) are the No. 4 and No. 6 seeds, respectively. The University of Scranton (5-17, 0-6) did not qualify for the Landmark championships.

Susquehanna will play in the Landmark semifinals (and possibly the championship match) on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Juniata.

Next Match: Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Muhlenberg (non-conference match), 7 p.m.
