BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore setter
Shona St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South
Manor) dished out 26 assists to lead the Susquehanna
women's volleyball team to a Landmark Conference win against The
University of Scranton, 3-0, on the final day of the first round of
2009 Landmark Round-Robin Play at Moravian College's Breidegam
Fieldhouse on Oct. 3.
Susquehanna (13-9, 3-0 Landmark) defeated Scranton (5-12, 0-3
Landmark), 25-12, 25-12, 25-18.
SU's junior outside hitter Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton,
Pa./Freedom) recorded match highs of 11 kills and two
service aces. Jankiewicz currently ranks second in
the Landmark in both kills per game (3.43) and points per game
(4.32).
Teammate and freshman defensive specialist Kelly O'Brien
(Mastic, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) anchored the SU
defense, tallying a match-high 19 digs.
Senior middle hitter Madeline Hals (Morristown,
N.J./Morristown) posted a match-high six blocks against
Scranton.
Nationally ranked No. 2 Juniata College (15-2, 3-0 Landmark) won
its match today and is tied for first place in the Landmark with
SU. Goucher College (10-9, 2-1) and Moravian (11-11, 2-1) are tied
for third, while Catholic (14-6, 1-2) is in fifth in the
conference. The United States Merchant Marine Academy (8-8, 0-3)
and Scranton are in last place.
