Boxscore

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Nationally ranked No. 18 Dickinson College scored its only two goals on penalty kicks to escape with a 2-2 tie in a non-conference men's soccer game with visiting Susquehanna University at Dickinson Park on Oct. 7.

Susquehanna (3-8-1 overall) held a 2-1 lead in the 82nd minute before Dickinson (8-2-1 overall) tied the game for good on its second penalty-kick score by the same player.

Sophomore defender Joey Stellato (Convent Station, N.J./Morristown) and junior midfielder Dan Niesen (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) both scored for the Crusaders. Stellato tied the game at 1 with his first collegiate goal when he finished off a pass from sophomore midfielder Austin Gordon (Millburn, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) in the 26th minute, and Niesen made it 2-1 in the 52nd minute on an unassisted tally.

SU junior B.J. Merriam (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) made seven saves before leaving the game before the tying penalty kick. Freshman Pat Horan (Sutton, Mass./Worcester Academy) relieved Merriam and made three saves, including two in overtime, in the game's final 28 minutes, 32 seconds.
