BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Susquehanna University's junior forward
Fran Brzyski (Jamison, Pa./Archbishop Wood
Catholic) scored a team-high eight points and pulled down
a game-high eight rebounds, but Susquehanna fell, 72-49, at
Bridgewater College (Va.) in a non-conference men's basketball game
at Nininger Hall on Nov. 15. The game was both teams' 2009-10
season opener.
Bridgewater (1-0 overall) led from start to finish and held a
42-21 advantage at halftime. The Eagles outshot SU (0-1 overall),
41.3 percent to the Crusaders' 31.0 percent. The Eagles also
controlled the rebounding game, 48-33.
Brzyski sunk four of six field goals and posted
an assist and his team's lone blocked shot. Teammate and senior
guard Bryan Majors (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg)
tied for the game-high with five assists and added seven points,
two rebounds and a steal.
The Crusaders' junior guard Rob Estep (York, Pa./West
York) tied for the game-high with two steals.
Estep also had five points and four rebounds.
Bridgewater's senior guard Dominic Trawick (Manassas,
Va./Osbourn Park) led all players with 20 points, including a
game-high two three-pointers, and added five rebounds, three
assists and a steal. Teammate and senior guard D.J. Billups (Logan,
N.J./Kingsway Regional) scored 13 points and registered team-highs
of seven rebounds and five assists.
The Eagles' freshman forward Lyndon Humphries (Staunton,
Va./Riverheads) blocked a game-high two shots and added four
points, four rebounds and an assist. Junior forward Justin Brake
(Greenville, Va./Riverheads) led Bridgewater with two steals as
part of a seven-point, three-rebound day.
