FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Susquehanna University's senior
Alyssa Kemmerer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) made a
game- and career-high 14 saves to help visiting Susquehanna to a
2-2 tie with the University of Mary Washington in a non-conference
women's soccer game at Battleground Athletic Complex on Sept. 13.
Mary Washington (3-1-1 overall) held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but
Susquehanna (1-2-2 overall) came back to tie the game both times.
Mary Washington opened the scoring 20 minutes, 39 seconds into
the game with an unassisted goal, but the Crusaders responded less
than a minute later when junior forward Alison Chavers
(Freehold, N.J./Ranney) finished off an assist from
freshman defender Lindsay Robbins (West Simsbury,
Conn./Simsbury).
The Eagles scored again in the 28th minute, but SU's senior
forward Abby Montgomery (Hughesville,
Pa./Hughesville) notched the equalizer in the 54th minute.
Sophomore midfielder Samantha Price (Minersville,
Pa./Minersville Area) assisted.
Kemmerer made four saves in overtime, including
three in the second OT and one with 34 seconds to play.
