SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior outside
hitter Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton, Pa./Freedom)
totaled match highs of 19 and 15 kills, respectively, to help
Susquehanna women's volleyball win two five-set non-conference
matches against visiting Elizabethtown College (7-4 overall) and
Messiah College (4-8 overall) at the Annual Crossover Quad at
Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium on Sept. 18.
Jankiewicz also recorded a team-high five service
aces.
Susquehanna (5-8 overall) has won three straight matches at home
after defeating Elizabethtown, 14-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13,
and Messiah, 25-23, 19-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-11.
After starting the season 0-4 in five-set matches, SU has now
won its last three five-setters. The Crusaders are undefeated at
home at 3-0.
Crusaders sophomore setter Shona St. Angelo (Manorville,
N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) dished out a two-match
team-high 88 assists (42 and 46, respectively) to go along with 32
total digs.
Freshman defensive specialist Kelly O'Brien (Mastic,
N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) led the way for SU with 66 digs
(27 and 35, respectively).
Senior middle hitter Madeline Hals (Morristown,
N.J./Morristown) guarded the net for the Crusaders,
blocking five kill attempts.
Susquehanna's Landmark Conference counterpart Moravian College
(7-6 overall) also competed in the quad, going 1-1.
