WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Susquehanna University's senior forward
Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville)
scored her team-leading third goal this season on an unassisted
play in the second half, but visiting Susquehanna lost a Landmark
Conference field hockey game to The Catholic University of America,
8-1, at Cardinal Stadium on Sept. 27.
Junior back Samantha Reitz (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad
Weiser) made her second defensive save this season for SU
(2-7, 0-1 Landmark) to tie for the team lead, but it wasn't enough
to prevent Catholic (6-1, 1-0 Landmark) from running away with the
game.
The Crusaders did hold the advantage in penalty corners, 12-9,
but two Catholic goalkeepers combined for four saves.
SU's sophomore Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel,
N.J./Seneca) made one save in the first 50 minutes, 19
seconds before she was relieved by junior Natasha Eisenhart
(Gordon, Pa./Conrad Weiser). Eisenhart
made one save as well in the remaining 19:41, her first game action
this season.
Next Game: Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Elmira
(non-conference game), 4 p.m.
