ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Susquehanna University's senior forward
Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville)
netted two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to give
visiting Susquehanna a 3-2 win over Elmira College in a
non-conference field hockey game at Murray Athletic Field on Sept.
30.
Elmira (0-7 overall) held leads over Susquehanna (3-7 overall),
1-0 and 2-1, but the Crusaders were able to tie the score both
times.
Fiori scored SU's first goal in the 20th minute
off a rebound.
Sophomore forward Anna Spisak (Boiling Springs,
Pa./Boiling Springs) scored her second goal of the year
with just 35 seconds remaining in the contest, sending the game
into overtime.
Junior back Julia Amendola (Mountain Top, Pa./Bishop
Hoban) assisted on the game-winner as part of a standout
night. Amendola also made a game-high two
defensive saves.
Teammate and fellow junior back Samantha Reitz
(Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made the game's other
defensive save.
Crusaders sophomore Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel,
N.J./Seneca) stopped sevens shots on the day, six coming
in the first half.
