EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior forward
Shane Atha (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham)
scored his second goal of the season in as many games, but visiting
Susquehanna fell to Wilkes University, 2-1, in a non-conference
men's soccer game at Ralston Field on Sept. 30.
Susquehanna (3-7-0 overall) outshot Wilkes (4-5-0 overall),
19-8, and won the corner-kicks battle, 6-2, but the Colonels scored
on a penalty kick in the 80th minute for the game-winner.
Crusaders junior midfielder Brian Nobbs (Neshanic
Station, N.J./Somerville) assisted on the
Atha goal for his first collegiate point.
Junior B.J. Merriam (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern
Regional) made four saves for Susquehanna.
SU Head Coach Jim Findlay has 99 career men's
soccer victories.
