ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's senior forward
Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville)
scored off a rebound with 14 seconds left in regulation to give
Susquehanna a 2-1 win over Misericordia University in a
non-conference field hockey game at Muhlenberg College's Scotty
Wood Stadium on Sept. 5.
Misericordia (1-2 overall) led the Crusaders (1-2 overall), 1-0,
early in the first half before sophomore back Laurel
Monaghan (East Fallowfield, Pa./Coatesville Area) netted
the game-tying goal off a penalty corner in the 24th minute.
Crusaders sophomore goalkeeper Erin Ferguson (Mount
Laurel, N.J./Seneca) stopped six shots in the game,
including four in a 13-minute span to set up
Fiori's game-winning goal.
SU outshot the Cougars, 21-8, and held the edge in penalty
corners, 12-6.
