SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior forward
Jim Robertiello (Chester, N.J./West Morris
Mendham) scored a goal and assisted on two others, earning
Susquehanna (1-3-0 overall) a 3-2 non-conference victory against
King's College, Pa. (2-1-0 overall) in a men's soccer game at
Sassafras Fields on Sept. 8.
Robertiello assisted on the first career goal
of senior forward Dennis O'Hara (Salem, Va./Salem)
just 2 minutes, 40 seconds into the contest on an open net to mark
the only score of the first half.
With the scored tied at 1 in the second half, sophomore
midfielder Austin Gordon (Millburn, N.J./St. Benedict's
Prep) notched his first goal of the season off another
Robertiello assist. The goal gave the Crusaders a
short lead before King's tied the game again just 44 seconds after
Gordon scored.
Robertiello capped off his night in the 72nd
minute, heading in a pass from senior defender Andrew
Cordell Carey (Fenwick Island, Del./Indian River) over the
outstretched arms of the Monarchs goalie to secure the victory.
Junior B.J. Merriam (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern
Regional) earned his first win of the season by making
four saves.
