Boxscore

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's senior forward Marcus Burke (Hyde Park, Mass./Brimmer and May) pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds and scored a game-high 19 points to lead host Susquehanna past Goucher College, 76-65, in a Landmark Conference men's basketball game at Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium on Jan. 30.

Burke also had game-highs with four steals and 11 made free-throws (on 17 attempts). His six offensive rebounds topped Goucher's total as a team. Goucher (6-13, 4-5 Landmark) had five offensive boards in the game.

Susquehanna (12-8, 5-4 Landmark) jumped out to a 7-2 lead over the first 1 minute, 50 seconds of the game, but Goucher answered with five straight points to tie the score. A Burke free throw gave the Crusaders their last lead of the half at 8-7. The game went back-and-forth for the remainder of the half, as Goucher took a slim 41-40 lead into the break.

SU's sophomore guard Spenser Spencer (Seattle, Wash./Lakeside) dished out a game-high six assists and tallied 13 points. McKain was 5-for-7 from the field, including an alley-oop layup off a pass from Spencer.

The second half began where the first half left off, but Susquehanna held the lead for the rest of the game. Goucher brought the score to within three points, 67-64, with 3:53 left, but a Spencer three-pointer and a pair of made free-throws by senior guard Bryan Majors (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) put the game out of reach.

Goucher was led by sophomore forward Kyle Gladden (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne), who notched a team-high 17 points on five of seven from the floor and 7-for-10 from the line. Sophomore guard Shane Yambor (Burtonsville, Md./Paint Branch) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and added 15 points. Yambor also had a team-high-tying three assists. Teammate and freshman guard Dorian Green (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) also had three assists, while junior guard Micah Perry (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) chipped in 12 points on 4-for-12 shooting from three-point range.
