SU Grabs Win Over Goucher

Box Score

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team continued to roll in conference play, opening the second round of the Landmark Conference Round-Robin Tournament with a 3-1 win over Goucher.

SU (19-10, 4-1) won 25-13, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-14 decisions over the Gophers in its first and only match on the opening day of the tournament. Susquehanna has now won eight of its last 10 matches.

The Crusaders were led by Emily Carson's (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) double-double, as she posted 10 kills and 18 digs in the winning effort. She also added two service aces for SU. Falling just short of a double-double was Jessica Cornman-Homonoff (Brooklyn, Conn./Woodstock Academy), who added seven kills and 14 digs.

In what was a well-rounded defensive effort by the team, Kelly O'Brien (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) was the third SU player with double-digit digs, recording a match-high 20. Shona St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) led all players with her 28 assists.

The Crusaders wrap-up both the round-robin tournament and conference play tomorrow, and should find out their postseason future once all the day's matches are completed.
