KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Susquehanna women's
volleyball team concluded regular-season conference play with a 3-0
win over USMMA on Sunday afternoon at the Landmark Conference Round
Robin Tournament in Kings Point. Susquehanna defeated USMMA in
straight sets: 25-8, 25-18, 25-17.
SU has clinched the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Tournament and
will play the winner of the Nov. 3 quarterfinal match between
Scranton and Catholic in the semifinal round on Nov. 7, hosted by
No. 1 seed Juniata.
The win was SU's (20-10, 5-1) 20th of the fall
and fifth in league play as the Crusaders finished with a 5-1
record against league opponents.
In the win, Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James
Caldwell) again led the team in kills with eight while
contributing 15 digs as SU boasted a team attack percentage of
.326.
Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls)
also had a solid all-around performance with seven kills and five
total blocks (two solo, three assisted).
Shona St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South
Manor) was the team leader in assists with 17 while
Kelly O'Brien (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport-South
Manor) racked up a team-best 19 digs.
