SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University's
women's soccer team lost a home Landmark Conference game to
the University of Scranton, 1-0, at Sassafras Fields on Oct. 2
SU (3-7-0, 0-2-0) held Scranton (7-4-0, 1-0-0) to just four shots
in the first half, but the Royals managed to get off nine in the
second half. One of those shots found the back of the net in the
67th minute of play.
The Crusaders had their chances to tie the game up late in the
contest by controlling the ball in Scranton territory, but could
never get a shot off.
Senior defender Samantha Farina (Kennett Square,
Pa./Unionville) and sophomore midfielder Leah
Gardiner (Portland, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) registered a
shot on goal each.
SU's freshman Rachel Norbuts (Woodstown,
N.J./Woodstown) took the loss in all 90 minutes of play
and made two diving saves.
