Juniata was able to cut the lead down to six points on multiple occasions but could never get any closer than that for the the rest of the game. The second half was more of the same, as SU never led by less than 10 points. Majors made two free throws with 17:53 left in the game to give Susquehanna a 47-28 lead. Juniata fought back to bring the game back to within 10 points, 53-43, with 12:18 remaining, but the Crusaders pushed the game back out to a 19-point difference, 64-45, just 3:22 later.

SU notched its biggest lead of the contest, 72-52, with 6:36 to go. The deficit was too much for the Eagles to overcome, as they could only bring the game to within 13 points three different times after that.

Juniata was led by sophomore guard Dan Sekulski (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone), who came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points. Teammate and senior guard Jeff Berkey (Stoystown, Pa./Shanksville-Stonycreek) led all players with four assists and grabbed a team-high seven boards to go along with 13 points.
