team-high 16 points and added a team-high-tying two assists, but
host Susquehanna lost a Landmark Conference men's basketball game
to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 69-59, at Orlando W.

Susquehanna (12-9, 5-5 Landmark) scored the game's first basket

the next six points to take a lead that it never relinquished.
The Mariners took their biggest lead of the first half on a

37-25. They built that lead out to as many as 18 points with 4
minutes, 35 seconds left in the second half before SU started to
get close again.
The Crusaders brought the score to within eight points at 67-59
on a three-pointer by senior guard Bryan Majors
(Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) with 25 seconds remaining,
but it was too little too late. The USMMA's senior guard Scott
Rattigan (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) went 4-for-4 from the
free-throw line in the waning moments to ice the game.
Rattigan finished with 11 points. Junior forward Matt Hueber
[Alexandria, Va./Gonzaga College HS (D.C.)] was the other Mariner
scoring in double figures with a game-high 21 points. Hueber
registered a double-double by collecting a game-high 13 rebounds as
well.
Sophomore center Trevor Williamson (McEwensville,
Pa./Warrior Run) came off the bench to lead the Crusaders
with seven rebounds as part of a four-point night. Teammate and
senior forward Marcus Burke (Hyde Park, Mass./Brimmer and
May) tallied 12 points and six boards in just 19 minutes.
Burke, Williamson and
Spencer each had to play with four fouls.
Burke picked up two fouls early in the first half,
limiting him to just four minutes in that period.
Along with the three-pointer, Majors also
notched five rebounds and two assists. Junior guard Jason
Dawson (Somerset, N.J./Rutgers Prep) had two assists as
well to go with three points.
The USMMA's sophomore guard Kevin Kerr (Oakdale, N.Y./St.
Anthony's) led all players with three assists. Kerr also scored
eight points and grabbed two boards. Junior forwards Richard Roach
