Boxscore

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior midfielder Sarah Wright (Princeton, N.J./Princeton HS) recorded game-highs of four goals and two assists to help Susquehanna defeat the visitors from Frostburg State University, 16-5, in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Sassafras Fields on March 25.

Wright also tied a game-high with four draw controls.

Susquehanna (4-4 overall) scored the first seven goals of the game over the first 10 minutes, 41 seconds, and Frostburg State (4-3 overall) could never catch up.

Sophomore attack Erin Dyer (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) netted the first SU goal from a free position just 1:11 into the game. Dyer also dished out an assist on one of Wright's goals in the second half.

Just 2:16 after the Dyer goal, sophomore attack Ally Bauer (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) scored her first of three goals on a free-position shot. Bauer scored all three of her goals in the first half and assisted on two other goals in the game. She also registered four draw controls.

Crusaders freshman midfielder Lindsey Derstine (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) tallied a hat trick, including back-to-back goals--one from a free position and the other unassisted. Derstine handed out one assist on the day as well.

Freshman attack Phoebe Nicholls (Princeton, N.J./Rutgers Prep) was the third SU player to record three goals in the contest. After the consecutive goals by Derstine, Nicholls notched back-to-back goals to end the seven straight Susquehanna tallies.

After Frostburg cut the score to 7-2, the Crusaders ran off five unanswered goals until the final second of the first half. The score was 12-3 at halftime.

SU's freshman attack Alexa Green (Wilmington, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy) scored her first goals of the season, both coming in the final two minutes of regulation.

Sophomore midfielder Marra Landino (Brownsville, Vt./Kimball Union Academy) and sophomore defender Brittany McCann (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) picked up a team-high-tying six ground balls. McCann also caused a game-high five turnovers.

Freshman Emily Stankaitis (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) played all 60 minutes in goal and made a game-high 13 saves to pick up her third win of the season.

Next Game: Saturday, March 27, at Shepherd (non-conference game), 12 p.m.
