SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore attack Tim Pastore (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) notched a goal and handed out four assists, but Susquehanna fell to visiting Goucher College, 11-7, in a Landmark Conference men's lacrosse game at Sassafras Fields on March 27.

Pastore assisted on the first SU goal scored by fellow sophomore attack Dustin Breakey (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with 9 minutes, 49 seconds left in the second quarter. Pastore also picked up one ground ball on the day, and Breakey netted a hat trick.

Susquehanna (5-4, 0-1 Landmark) fell behind Goucher (6-3, 1-0 Landmark), 4-0, just 2:22 into the second period and could never close the deficit to within two goals for the remainder of the contest.

After the Breakey goal, Pastore registered an unassisted man-up goal just 1:22 later to cut the score to 4-2.

Goucher increased its lead back out to four goals, 6-2, but freshman midfielder Marcus Cheatham (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola HS) finished off Pastore's second assist, cutting the lead to 6-3. Cheatham also had an assist and three ground balls in the contest.

The Gophers scored the final goal of the first half and netted the first two goals to begin the third quarter to build their lead to 9-3 with just 1:26 left in the period.

Breakey tallied his second score of the day on a pass from sophomore midfielder Billy Spack (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) with 55 seconds left before the final quarter of play, bringing the Goucher lead back down to 9-4. Spack picked up a ground ball in the game.

SU struck first in the fourth quarter with 10:32 remaining on a goal by freshman midfielder Tylere Fritts (Chatham, N.J./Chatham HS). Pastore registered his third assist on the score.

Another Goucher goal brought the game back out to 10-5, but the Crusaders would not go down without a fight. Breakey and Pastore hooked up again with 4:43 to go in regulation to make the game 10-6.

With 2:19 left in the game, freshman attack Sean Ledwick (Weston, Conn./Weston) registered his team-high-tying 16th goal of the year on a pass from Cheatham to make the score 10-7, but SU only took one more shot before Goucher added an insurance goal with 34 seconds left in the game.

Junior midfielder Ryan Oakes (North Yarmouth, Maine/Cheverus) won nine faceoffs and picked up six ground balls, while junior defender Jimmy Warburton (Chatham, N.J./Chatham HS) scooped up a team-high seven ground balls.

Crusaders freshman Will Torrence (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) fell to 1-2 on the year but made a game-high 20 saves in all 60 minutes of action in goal.
