SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior attack
Kirsten Detwiler (Montchanin, Del./Wilmington
Friends) tallied a game-high five points on two goals and
three assists to help Susquehanna defeat the visitors from Moravian
College, 18-7, in a Landmark Conference women's lacrosse game at
Sassafras Fields on April 10.
Detwiler handed out all three of her assists and
scored both of her goals in the first half.
Susquehanna (8-4, 1-0 Landmark) traded goals with Moravian (3-6,
0-1 Landmark) over the first 6 minutes, 28 seconds of play but
outscored the Greyhounds, 9-1, for the rest of the half. SU netted
the first two goals to start the second half and never led by less
than eight for the remainder of the contest.
The Crusaders have now won seven straight games and eight of their
last nine. SU has scored at least 16 goals in six consecutive
contests as well.
SU's junior midfielder Sarah Wright (Princeton,
N.J./Princeton HS), sophomore attack Ally Bauer
(Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) and freshman attack
Phoebe Nicholls (Princeton, N.J./Rutgers Prep)
each scored three goals and assisted on another.
Nicholls won two draw controls and picked up a
ground ball. Wright won four draw controls, and
Bauer scooped up a ground ball.
Sophomore attack Erin Dyer (West Caldwell, N.J./James
Caldwell) and freshman midfielder Lindsey Derstine
(Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) both netted two goals.
Derstine's second goal was from a free
position with 14:29 left in the game.
Crusaders freshman defender Ainsley Rossitto (Rocky Hill,
Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) led all players with three caused
turnovers. Rossitto also scored a goal, assisted
on another, picked up three ground balls and won two draw
controls.
SU's sophomore midfielder Caroline Sisson (Baltimore,
Md./McDonogh) and freshman defender Jennifer
Nguyen (Norristown, Pa./Norristown Area) each registered a
goal. Nguyen recorded her first point this season
with that goal.
Freshman Emily Stankaitis (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye
Falls-Lima) played all 60 minutes in net and made 10 saves
to earn her seventh win of the season. Stankaitis
picked up a game-high six ground balls.
SU outshot the Greyhounds, 51-24, including 36 shots on goal.
