SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore
Jordan Daney (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) made a
game-high 19 saves, including a game-high 13 in the first half
alone, but host Susquehanna lost a Landmark Conference men's
lacrosse game to The University of Scranton, 7-5, at Sassafras
Fields on April 2.
SU (5-5, 0-2 Landmark) led, 3-1, after the first quarter and
again at the half, 4-2, but Scranton (3-6, 1-1 Landmark) scored
four third-quarter goals and one fourth-quarter score to pull off
the comeback. The Crusaders were limited to one goal in the second
half, that one coming in the third quarter.
Susquehanna's sophomore attack Dustin Breakey
(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and sophomore
midfielder Billy Spack (Arlington, Va., Yorktown)
both tied for the game-high with two goals. Freshman attack
Sean Ledwick (Weston, Conn./Weston) scored the
Crusaders' other goal.
Sophomore midfielders Luke Delavan (Madison,
N.J./Madison) and Rory Meagher
(Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central
Catholic), senior defender Rick Kondub
(Stamford, Conn./King and Low-Heywood
Thomas) and freshman midfielder Marcus Cheatham
(Reisterstown, Md./Loyola HS) each assisted on one SU goal
(in that order).
Cheatham also led the Crusaders with six ground
balls. Teammate and junior midfielder Ryan Oakes (North
Yarmouth, Maine/Cheverus) won a team-high five faceoffs
and collected three ground balls. SU's freshman midfielder
Brian Sowyrda (Grafton,
Mass./Grafton) had three ground balls as well.
