SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- The Susquehanna University men lost a
Landmark Conference match to the visitors from The Catholic
University of America, 6-3, on Senior Day at the James W. Garrett
Sports Complex tennis courts on May 1.
Susquehanna (8-7, 3-4 Landmark) won three of the six singles
matches but dropped each doubles match to Catholic (11-8, 4-3
Landmark).
SU's freshman Richard Fitzsimmons [Brielle, N.J./Loomis
Chaffee (Conn.)] won a straight-sets singles match, 6-3,
6-4, from third-flight.
Sophomore Matthew Quadrini [Escondido, Calif./Brunswick
(Maine)] swept his opponent in fourth-flight singles, 6-3,
6-4.
Teammate and senior Casey Oliver (State College,
Pa./Mercersburg Academy) won his first career match,
taking a sixth-flight singles victory, 6-4, 6-1.
Susquehanna needed a win to keep its chances for a Landmark
playoffs spot alive.
