Boxscore

MADISON, N.J. -- Susquehanna University ended its 2009-10 season with an 8-1 loss to host Drew University in the Landmark Conference women's tennis semifinals at William E. and Carol G. Simon Forum and Athletic Center on May 4.

Susquehanna (8-6 overall), the No. 4 seed in the Landmark championships, earned its point at sixth-flight singles. No. 1-seeded Drew (11-3 overall) swept the doubles matches and will now play No.3-seeded Moravian College in the conference title match on Saturday, May 8.

Moravian (12-5 overall) upset No.2-seeded The University of Scranton (9-7 overall), 5-2, on May 4.

Sophomore Cassie Zerbe (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) was SU's winner. Zerbe was ahead, 6-5, before her opponent retired from the match.

Competition was scheduled to be played outdoors, but poor weather forced the matches inside.

The individual victory gives Zerbe her team-leading 11th singles win of the season.
