GREENCASTLE, Ind. – On the final day of the DePauw
Volleyball Invitational, the Susquehanna women's volleyball
team came away with another split, earning a 3-1 win over Marietta
before dropping a 3-0 decision against Juniata.
SU (8-6) defeated Marietta 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-19. The
Crusaders dropped 24-26, 14-25 and 16-25 decisions to
Juniata.
Three players reached double-digit kill totals against
Marietta, led by
Lindsey Jankiewicz's 14.
M.C. Llareus added 11 kills and
Emily
Carson finished with 10 kills and 10 digs for a
double-double.
Kelly O'Brien had a solid
serving game going, tallying three service aces and amassing a
team-leading 24 digs.
Shona St. Angelo added 36
assists and six digs for Susquehanna.
In the weekend finale, the Crusaders put up a fight but could
not down Juniata. Jankiewicz added 10 more kills and boasted a .400
attack percentage. She also had a weekend-high five service aces to
complement two block assists and two digs. O'Brien recorded
17 digs while St. Angelo tacked on another 19 assists.
SU finished the weekend with a 2-2 overall record against a
challenging field, including #13 Carthage.
Jankiewicz was named to the All-Tournament team.
