Box Score
ALTOONA, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball
team defeated Penn State-Altoona 3-2 on Wednesday night in Altoona
to improve to 9-6 on the season.
The Crusaders posted some unconventional scores, defeating the
Lions 25-16, 26-24, 21-25, 12-25 and 15-5. Fortunately style points
do not matter as the Crusaders were aided by Emily
Carson's double-double (15 kills, 15 digs).
Lindsey Jankiewicz, the reigning Landmark
Conference Player of the Week, added 14 kills of her own to go
along with four digs and three blocks.
SU's Shona St. Angelo led all players
with 45 assists and fell just two digs shy of a double-double.
PSU-Altoona (9-7) hit for just a .137 attack percentage and
managed only five points in the decisive fifth set, after SU opened
on an 11-0 run. Susquehanna also out-lasted the Lions 26-24 in the
second set.
The Crusaders, in the midst of a 20-day road swing, have now
improved their record during that stretch to 6-3 with one weekend
quad match left to play before returning home on Sept. 28.
Next match: Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25, at the F&M
Quad Match.
