LANCASTER, Pa. - Win number 10 of the season for the Susquehanna
women's volleyball team came in the form of a 3-1 win over
Marymount on the opening day of the Franklin and Marshall
Invitational on Friday night.
The Crusaders (10-6) dropped the first set 20-25 before
rebounding to grab the next three by scores of 32-30, 25-18 and
25-19.
Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell)
posted a double-double on the night with 12 kills and 13 digs. The
sophomore also led the team with three solo blocks. Shona
St. Angelo (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) added a
double-double of 47 assists and 13 digs.
Also tallying a double-digit kill total was senior
Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton, Pa./Freedom) with a
team-high 17. She also added six digs and four blocks.
In a marathon of a second set, Susquehanna reached its
substitution limit an head coach Kuuipo Tom went
with a final rotation of Kate Reese (Wellsboro,
Pa./Wellsboro Area), Morgan Jackson (Baltimore,
Md./Cantonsville) and Jankiewicz. A Jackson kill handed
the 31-30 advantage to SU and Jankiewicz closed out the set with a
kill.
