First Half Goal Not Enough for SU to Beat Misericordia

Boxscore

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore midfielder Ally Bradley (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored the lone Susquehanna goal in the 32nd minute, but it wasn't enough as the Crusaders fell to Misericordia University, 2-1, at the Mule Classic hosted by Muhlenberg at Scotty Wood Stadium on Sept. 4.

Bradley tipped in a shot from junior back Laurel Monaghan (East Fallowfield, Pa./Coatesville Area) to give her five goals this season for SU (2-1 overall). The goal came on a corner attempt that Bradley started.

SU held Misericordia (1-2 overall) scoreless for almost 65 minutes of action, but the final two shots that the Cougars attempted in 1-minute, 48-second span found the back of the net.

The Crusaders had one final corner attempt with just over three minutes left in regulation but failed to get a shot off.

Crusaders junior Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel, N.J./Seneca) made two saves in all 70 minutes of play to suffer the loss.

SU help the edge in shots, 13-7, and 11-9 in corners, but the Misericordia goalkeeper made eight saves.

Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 11, vs. Neumann College, 12 p.m.
