HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team fell short of a weekend sweep as the Crusaders fell 3-0 to host Juniata in their final match of round one of Landmark Conference play.

SU (5-13, 2-1) dropped 14-25, 9-25 and 23-25 decisions to Juniata (14-4, 4-0), the reigning conference champion.

Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) accounted for nine of SU's 22 kills while also adding five digs and three blocks (one solo). Kate Reese (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) led all players with her 19-dig performance and Samantha Adler (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) had a team-high 16 assists.

The Crusaders ended the league weekend with a 2-1 record after defeating USMMA and Goucher on Saturday. The team is back in action on Oct. 7-8 when Susquehanna hosts its annual Hampton Inn Crusader Classic.
