SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna's volleyball finished undefeated in the sixth-annual Hampton Inn Crusader Classic over the weekend, including wins over Penn State Berks and Albright on Saturday.
The Crusaders defeated PSU-Berks 25-17, 25-18, and 25-13.
SU (9-13) was led by junior Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James Caldwell), who finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) recorded 18 assists and Kate Reese (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) registered 16 digs against the Nittany Lions.
The Crusaders beat Albright 25-14, 25-10, and 25-6 to sweep all four games over the weekend.
Reese recorded 14 digs, Caruso registered 20 assists, and Carson finished with 13 kills to pace Susquehanna. Samantha Adler (Montville, N.J. / Montville Twp.) chipped in with 10 assists.
The Crusaders play at McDaniel on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
Carson was named the All-Tournament Most Valuable Player, as voted on by the coaches.
