Crusaders Drop Tough Five Set Match to Gettysburg

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Despite winning the first two sets, Susquehanna's volleyball team couldn't close out non-conference opponent Gettysburg and fell 3-2 on Wednesday evening.

SU (12-15 overall) won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-17 before the Bullets (12-10 overall) took the last three 26-24, 25-19 and 14-11.

Senior Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James Caldwell) had a team-high nine kills, 15 assists and eight digs. Sophomore Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) recorded a team-best 17 assists for SU.

Freshman Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa. / Tamaqua Area) and senior Kristin Shanabrook (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) had 16 and 12 digs, respectively while senior Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Knolls) notched seven kills and six block assists.

The Crusaders compete the second Landmark Conference Weekend on Saturday and Sunday with matches against host Moravian, Goucher and Merchant Marine.
