BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball
team rebounded from an opening 3-1 loss to Moravian by taking a 3-1
decision from Goucher to split its pair of Landmark Conference
matches on Saturday afternoon.
SU (13-16, 2-3) fell 24-26, 26-24, 14-25, 21-25 to Moravian before
defeating Goucher 25-20, 26-24, 19-25, 25-12.
Against the Greyhounds, senior Emily Carson (Caldwell,
N.J./James Caldwell) had a double-double with 15 kills and
12 digs and finished with a .412 attack percentage. She also added
eight assists and three block assists.
Including Carson, three Crusaders had double-digit dig totals as
Dana Kreutzer (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central
Regional) had 19 and Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning,
Pa./Tamaqua Area) added 19. Julia Caruso
(Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) chipped in with 18
assists and five digs.
In the win over Goucher, Carson added another 15 kills and six digs
while Jess Holm (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills)
finished the match with 12 digs. Paluck led the team with 18 digs
and Caruso had an impressive 37 assists and three block assists in
her four sets of action.
As a team, the Crusaders finished with a .272 attack percentage
against the Gophers.
The Crusaders wrap-up regular season conference play tomorrow with
a 1:30 p.m. match against USMMA.
