Box Score HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's soccer
team had 85 minutes to respond to an early Juniata goal but could
not put the ball in the net and ultimately fell 1-0 to the Eagles
on Tuesday evening in Huntingdon.
Juniata scored in the sixth minute of the game and held SU (4-8-2,
2-4-1) scoreless and to just six shots, including just two
first-half shots. Jessica Takats (West Islip, N.Y./St.
Anthony's) and Megan Stevens (Pipersville,
Pa./Palisades) had two shots apiece. The Eagles (9-5-1,
2-2-0), meanwhile, took 20 shots.
SU goalie Rachel Norbuts (Monroeville,
N.J./Woodstown) made six saves on seven shots on goal by
Juniata.
The Crusaders found themselves in an early, 1-0 hole after
Juniata's Rose Lucidi scored after 5:18 of play. The teams
traded shots for the next few minutes but the Eagles went into
halftime still holding onto that 1-0 and with a 7-2 edge in
shots.
Juniata fired off 13 second-half shots but none found the back of
the net. Susquehanna's offense, however, was held without a
shot for the final 12-plus minutes after Angela Amato
(Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) took the team's
last shot at the 77:54 mark.
SU has the weekend off before hitting the road on Oct. 25 to face
Penn College at 5 p.m.
