BETHLEHEM, Pa.—Susquehanna's women's soccer
season ended on a sour note, as the Crusaders dropped a 1-0 match
at Landmark Conference opponent Moravian on Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders (4-8-3, 0-4-2) surrendered a goal in the
80th minute of action when Moravian's Taylor Blake
knocked in a loose ball in front of the net.
The Greyhounds (10-7-1, 4-2) outshot SU 26-5 as all five shots
for the Crusaders came from a different player. Moravian held the
edge in corners, 9-2.
Junior keeper Rachel Norbuts (Monroeville, N.J. /
Woodstown) recorded eight saves in between the pipes for
SU.
The match marked the last game in Orange and Maroon for six
seniors: Tara Brancato (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove
Area), Leah Gardiner (Portland, Conn. /
Kingswood-Oxford), Megan Stevens (Pipersville, Pa.
/ Palisades), Brianna Soars (Williamsport, Pa. /
Loyalsock Twp.), Lindsay Robbins (West Simsbury,
Conn. / Simsbury) and Kelly Bassett (Hillsdale,
N.J. / Pascack Valley).
