SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball
team wrapped up its annual, two-day Crusader Classic by going a
perfect 2-0 on Sunday with straight-set wins over Bryn Athyn and
Immaculata.
SU (12-14) finished the weekend with a 4-1 record with three of
those four wins coming as 3-0 decisions.
On Sunday, the Crusaders opened the day with a 25-6, 25-19, 25-7
win over Bryn Athyn. Emily Carson
(Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) led the team with
seven kills while Morgan Whiteman (Camp Hill,
Pa./Trinity) added six. Julia
Caruso (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led
the team with her 13 assists and the squad combined for 14 block
assists with four coming from Torrie Garner (James Creek,
Pa./Huntingdon Area).
In the final match of the weekend for Susquehanna, SU took down
Immaculata 25-17, 25-12, 25-15. This time it was Jess Holm
(Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) leading the way with eight
kills and three block assists while Caruso tallied another 19
assists to go along with four digs. Paluck racked up 17 of the
team's 43 digs and the Crusaders reached 17 block assists for
the match with seven different players picking up at least two
block assists each.
Carson and Paluck were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Crusaders remain at home to host Gettysburg on Wednesday at
7:30 p.m.
