SELINSGROVE, Pa. – For the fifth-straight season, the
Susquehanna volleyball team will make an appearance in the Landmark
Conference semifinals after defeating Scranton 3-0 in Thursday
night's quarterfinal matchup.
The No. 4 seeded Crusaders (17-21) took down the No. 5 Royals in
straight sets 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.
Senior Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J. / James
Caldwell) recorded a double-double in the victory,
registering 19 kills, with a .364 attack percentage, and 15 digs.
Freshman Morgan Whiteman (Camp Hill, Pa. /
Trinity) also tallied a double-double with 10 digs and a
game-high 32 assists.
Freshman libero Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa. /
Tamaqua Area) had a team-best 19 digs and senior
Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Knolls) had
five kills and four block assists for the Crusaders.
In Thursday's other quarterfinal, No. 3 Moravian won in
straight sets over Goucher. SU will now face No. 1 seed Juniata in
a semifinal match on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m.
As the No. 1 seed, Juniata will host both the semifinals and
championship match on Saturday. The championship match is slated
for 7 p.m.
