BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Susquehanna men's basketball
team finally got on the court in a real game atmosphere as the
Crusaders traveled to Division I Binghamton on Saturday afternoon
for an exhibition contest. SU fell 63-46 to the Bearcats.
Freshman guard Luke Cable (York, Pa./West York)
was the team's top scorer as he finished with 13 points on
4-of-9 shooting; nine of those points came from three-point range.
Senior J.T. Wilson (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII
Regional) added six points and a team-high five rebounds.
Freshman Tre Dean (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School)
also pulled down five boards to match Wilson.
As a team the Crusaders shot only 28.6 percent from the floor but
did sink 40 percent (8-of-20) from beyond the arc.
Four players reached double figures for Binghamton, led by 17 from
Rayner Moquete. The Bearcats out-rebounded SU 40-31 and shot better
than 41 percent from the field.
The Crusaders open their regular season on Nov. 16 against Penn
College on the opening day of SU's annual Pepsi Tip-Off
Tournament.
