SELINSGROVE, Pa. – For the first time since 2008, the Susquehanna men's soccer team is back in the Landmark Conference championship match with its 1-0 win over Drew on Saturday afternoon.

That 2008 SU team went on to defeat Catholic in the championship game.

The Crusaders (16-2-0) will now face No. 3 seed Scranton in Sunday's championship match, slated for a 1 p.m. start. The Royals defeated No. 2 seed Catholic 2-1 in Saturday's first semifinal match.

A late, second-half goal from Ryan Donlevie (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) proved to be the game winner as SU picked up its 10 shutout of the fall, as well as its fourth-straight shutout, and recorded its program-record 16th victory of the fall.

A choppy first half turned around with a solid showing from the Crusaders over the final 45 minutes as their offense clicked and the team was ultimately able to snap a scoreless tie on Donlevie's goal.

As a team, SU out-shot Drew 10-4, held the Rangers (11-5-2) to only one shot on goal and forced Drew goalie Michael Reyes into make four saves in the match.

Despite being able to fire off five first-half shots to Drew's one, the game remained scoreless at halftime. The Rangers were held without a shot on goal during those 45 minutes as the Crusader defense was able to ensure that Drew did not get on the scoreboard.

The Rangers were able to triple their shot total from the first half during the final half of the game but Susquehanna's offense put the pressure on Drew's defenders. Finally, with 78:12 on the clock, Donlevie collected a pass from Daniel Sosa (Columbia, Pa./York Catholic) and tapped it past Reyes.

SU's defense shut down Drew for the remaining 12 minutes, ultimately sending Susquehanna to the championship match.
