North Park Box Score

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team ended competition at NYU's Violet Classic on a high note, sweeping two matches in 3-0 fashion.

The Crusaders (7-11) took down Wesleyan in straight sets: 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 and followed that with a 3-0 win over North Park with scores of 25-20, 25-24, 25-20.

Against Wesleyan, Jess Holm (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) hit for a .524 attack percentage with 15 kills. Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and Morgan Whiteman (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) combined for 29 assists with 15 and 14, respectively, while Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) had eight kills, seven digs and two block assists.

In the final match of the weekend for SU, Carson added 12 kills and six digs against North Park and hit for a .458 attack percentage. Whiteman and Caruso had 14 assists each and Paluck led all squads with 18 digs.

Carson finished the two matches with a combined 13 digs, meaning she is just 16 digs away from reaching 1,000 for her career. Already a 1,000-plus kill player, Carson would become only SU's second 1,000 kill/1,000 dig player in history (Cheryl Smith – 1,018 kills, 1,223 digs: 2002-05). The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Crusaders get Landmark Conference play started next weekend with the first round robin tournament on Sept. 29-30 at Goucher.
