SELINSGROVE, Pa.— Senior captain John Arnold (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area) took a feed from Andrew Murphy (Natick, Mass. / Natick) and flicked it over the keeper in the 88th minute to give No. 16 Susquehanna men's soccer a 1-0 victory over non-conference opponent Elizabethtown on Wednesday evening.

The win is the first for SU in program history against the Blue Jays, with the rivalry dating back to 1960.

The Crusaders (8-1) outshot the Blue Jays (2-5-2) 18-5 and held a 6-0 corner kick advantage in the match. Murphy led all players with four shots.

The match was aggressively played throughout, with four yellow cards being issued and 25 total fouls called.

Matt Salsman (Selinsgrove, Pa. /Selinsgrove Area) made one save as the Crusader defense held the Blue Jay attack to only a single shot on goal the entire game.

The Crusaders travel to Washington, D.C. for their first conference road match against Catholic on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
