TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna women's volleyball team dropped two conference matches at the first Landmark Conference Round Robin weekend but senior Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) made SU history as she became just the second player in program history to reach the 1,000 career kill and 1,000 career dig mark.

Carson entered the weekend with 999 career digs and with her 10 on Saturday, joined an elite club of two.

Susquehanna (7-13, 0-2) took Juniata to five sets, a rare feat against the Eagles. Last year the Crusaders won the first-ever Landmark Conference set against the Eagles in the championship match and this year took their match to five sets. SU ultimately fell, however, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15, 17-25, 7-15.

Susquehanna then dropped a four-setter to Catholic, 21-25, 25-19, 20-25, 18-25.

Against the Eagles, Carson led the squad with 18 kills to go along with three digs and nine combined blocks (3 solo, 6 assisted). Jess Holm (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) added 10 digs of her own while Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) racked up 32 assists, three kills, two service aces and two digs.

In the final match of the night for SU, Carson added 16 more kills to go along with seven digs and eight combined blocks (2 solo, 6 assisted). Caruso matched her assist total from the first match with 32 and Holm added nine kills in the match.

SU wraps-up the opening conference weekend on Sunday with a 12:30 p.m. match against Scranton.
