BEVERLY, Mass. – The Susquehanna volleyball team dropped its
final two matches at the Endicott Invitational, falling 3-1 to
Williams and 3-0 to Middlebury.
The Crusaders (3-5) went 1-1 on Friday before going 0-2 on Saturday
afternoon, capping off a busy four-match weekend.
Against Williams, Emily Carson (Caldwell, N.J./James
Caldwell) racked up 17 kills and boasted a .314 attack
percentage. She also added four digs and four block assists. As a
team, the Crusaders had 31 total blocks (three solo, 18
assisted).
Julia Caruso (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley)
led the team with 15 assists while Morgan Whiteman (Camp
Hill, Pa./Trinity) added 10 to go along with her seven
digs.
The Crusaders lasted just three sets against Middlebury and hit
just .143 as a team. Carson added six kills, a team-high, to go
along with four digs and four blocks assists. The Crusaders were
again active on the net, tallying 24 block assists and two solo
blocks.
SU is back on the road next weekend beginning with two matches on
Friday at the Crossover Tournament, hosted by Moravian. On Sept.
15-16, the Crusaders travel to the Franklin & Marshall Scramble
Tournament for four more matches.
