Both teams traded field goals during the next few minutes as
Eastern's lead never grew past five points. Another Sellinger
layup at 5:21 made the deficit three (26-23) and Hedley sunk a
three-pointer and a fast-break layup to cut the Eagle lead to two
(30-28) with a little over three minutes to go in the opening
period.
Hedley made yet another long-range trey and a layup by
Tre Dean (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill School) gave
the Crusaders the lead 33-32 and SU took a one-point lead into
halftime (35-34). Hedley led all scorers at the break with 11
points, shooting 3-for-6 from three-point land.
