WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Susquehanna volleyball team ended the
conference portion of its regular season with a 3-1 win over
Moravian on the final Landmark Conference round robin weekend.
The Crusaders (22-8, 4-1) defeated the Greyhounds (10-18, 1-4) in
four sets by scores of 25-15, 16-25, 25-14, 25-15.
Erin Byrne (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) fell
just two digs shy of a double-double with her 15 kills and eight
digs. She also added five block assists and four assists.
Sarah Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa./Tamaqua Area)
again led the team in digs with 23 while Maggie
O'Hearn (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) tallied 30
assists, six service aces – a match-high – and nine
digs.
Rachel Wherry (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) racked
up two solo blocks and four block assists as the team finished the
day with three solo blocks and 11 block assists. For comparison,
the Greyhounds had only two solo blocks and six block assists in
the match.
The Crusaders are back at home on Oct. 23 to host Lancaster Bible
at 7 p.m.
